On the upcoming March 24th half-day (1:30-3:30), sixth graders at Spofford Pond School have been invited to participate in a service project benefiting the Community Giving Tree. This opportunity is a volunteer effort from both students and parent chaperones that will take place in the gym at Spofford School. Interested students will gather in the gym after dismissal, be offered nut-free snacks, and hear a brief presentation and discussion from representatives of the Community Giving Tree. The presentation will include a short video with background on the organization, who they serve and why our involvement and support is so important to their success. After the presentation, students will the be asked to help put clothing and diaper bundles together. The clothing and diapers have been donated by Spofford families and collected by Spofford Pond’s Student Council during their recent diaper drive.
This project is entirely voluntary, but we would encourage as many sixth grade students as possible to participate. Interested students must bring notes dismissing them to the Sixth Grade Service Project with Community Giving Tree, and families MUST ARRANGE FOR TRANSPORTATION HOME SINCE THIS IS AN AFTER SCHOOL ACTIVITY. NO BUS SERVICE WILL BE AVAILABLE.
Please RSVP via email to firstname.lastname@example.org by Wednesday, March 22nd, if your child is interested in participating and put: 6GAC Service Project in the subject line. Thank you!
