Last Chance to “Feed the Love”!

Friday March 2 is the last day to contribute to our food drive. Please give any non-perishable foods you can spare.
This cause has two goals: to provide nourishment to desperately hungry people in Lawrence, and to give our students a meaningful opportunity to serve, increase awareness, and nurture empathy.
On Monday, our 6th graders will sort the food, load the delivery truck, and learn from a rep about The Lazarus House’s mission. This organization’s food pantry supplies emergency food to over 800 families each week, and their soup kitchen provides hot meals for more than 225 people a day. In the winter, a soup van travels throughout Lawrence distributing food to people living in the streets. This is a sad and hope-filled cause in a nearby town, and we can help.
Working together on this cause supports the social-emotional growth of our 6th graders, which will inevitably spread to all the grades- through families, buddies, friendships, and school discussions. Please help us by supporting the flow of positive energy throughout our school, and outward to a local need. When we feed the love, we feel the love. Thank you!
