On Monday March 5, 6th graders completed their Local Service Project by working together to sort and box food from our “Feed the Love” food drive. As staff from The Lazarus House loaded their delivery truck, they kept exclaiming “WOW!… WOW!” at the generous gift our community gave. Non-perishable donations were substantial, and 6th graders also added lots of fresh produce and fresh bread. The food went out immediately to feed hungry families that day through their soup kitchen, soup truck, and food pantry in Lawrence. The students were happy, helpful and collaborative as they started their week with a great act of kindness and service. Many thanks to the Boxford PTO’s 6th Grade Activities Committee for organizing this project. Ask a 6th grader how this process made him or her feel and why! And please tell them how proud we are.
