No matter what age you are, having fun and “playing” is serious business. Really. Play is a banquet for the brain, a smorgasbord for the senses, nourishment for the body and the mind. Play is especially important for kids as it foster creativity, thinking, learning and friendship skills…all ASSETS they are adding to their lifepacks! Play is so important for kids’ health that it’s been recognized by the United Nations High Commission for Human Rights as a right of every child.
TTC Asset Tip: Find time to play as a family.
- Play outside together – teach your kids a favorite outside game from your childhood.
- Have a camp “in” – Pitch a tent (or build a blanket fort) right in your living room and let the family fun begin!
- DIY pizza parlor – have some pre-made pizza shells and lots of toppings at the ready so kids can create their own personal pizzas
- Make a family movie – with the ubiquity of smartphones and video cameras, get the creative juices flowing and make your own family movie.
