Students will attend three practice sessions and three contest sessions throughout the school year. The contests will be taken at school and have a thirty-minute time limit. They involve multi-step problem solving and require higher-level thinking. All grade level students will be on the same team. Students are welcome to attend a practice or contest session with a different grade if they are unable to come on their scheduled day. They will work on their grade level contest during this time. We are very excited to be able to announce the first of what we hope will become an annual event for parents in Boxford, Middleton, and Topsfield.
The TTU Parent University is an opportunity for parents and guardians in Boxford, Topsfield, and Middleton to come together and learn ways to support their children in their educational journey. Parent University is designed to support parents and families across a variety of relevant topics including understanding the methods and practices of school curricula, exploring best supports for social emotional learning, navigating digital citizenship, and prioritizing parent wellness as a critical component. The conference is designed into a series of engaging presentations and discussions that will provide insight and perspective on topics ranging from academics, character education, and preparing students for the journey ahead, including middle school, high school, and the world beyond. This year’s event will be highlighted by keynote speaker, Dr. Bill Daggett, who will enlighten parents to the fourth industrial revolution and the role of relationships, rigor and relevance in the school setting. We see this as a unique way to partner with parents to enrich themselves and to help their children thrive.

Dear Parents and Guardians of Boxford, Middleton, and Topsfield Elementary School Students:
We would like to welcome you back for the 2018-2019 School Year.
The purpose of this letter is to communicate some helpful information about the School Nutrition Programs for the Districts.
We are very excited to continue our partnership with Whitsons Culinary Group. Whitsons is working diligently to develop and communicate menu options for our young students that are nutritionally sound, fulfilling, and meet the current USDA guidelines. We want the lunchroom experience to be an enjoyable time for the students and we look forward to the opportunity to provide them with a healthy lunch.
This year we have expanded options to students which will allow them to purchase ala carte items that are not part of the regular lunch for an additional cost (bottled water is an ala carte item). The ala carte items also meet the USDA guidelines and are approved for sale in schools.
It is important to the administration that parents make informed decisions about student meals and have complete control over what children may purchase. If you have any concerns or would like limitations on certain purchases, please do not hesitate to contact our Food Service Director, Mrs. Mayra Maldonado at firstname.lastname@example.org. Any information that you want incorporated into a student’s profile will be done via our point of sale system.
In closing, if you need assistance with your child(ren)’s account please contact Mayra at the e-mail listed about
As always we welcome your feedback and recommendations.
We appreciate being a part of your community and hope everyone has an enjoyable school year.
Steven Greenberg, Assistant Superintendent
Is your 5th Grader interested in Girl Scouts? The Boxford 5th grade troop #72386 has openings and needs more girls.
Girl Scouts meet twice a month at Spofford School on Monday afternoons. The program centers on the Girl Scout Leadership Experience — an age appropriate collection of activities and experiences girls have as they earn badges, sell cookies, go on exciting trips, explore the outdoors, complete Take Action projects that make a difference in their communities, and more.
Plus being part of a troop allows you to access to great day and overnight summer camps in New England.
Please visit GSEMA.org to join. Search the 5th grade troop #72386.
