We hope to start a Food Rescue Program with Pranali Ashara, a North Andover High School student who is working on her Girl Scout Gold Award. She has decided that the project she would like to focus on for this award is to help our school establish a “food rescue” program! We hope to have this up and running by the end of March or beginning of April. Below is a description of the program and a call for parent volunteers to help with it.
Food Rescue is a program in which students are encouraged to donate their unopened food packages during lunches to help someone in need. This project is in order to reduce our contribution to global warming and to bridge the gap between Food Insecurity and Food Waste.
How Can I Help?: By signing up to Volunteer!
Volunteers are needed to help the Food Rescue Program function efficiently:
What: Transporting Donated Food to North Andover High School Once a Week
Who: Parents of the Boxford Community
Where: From Spofford Pond Elementary School to North Andover High School
When: Once a Week on Wednesdays at 2 pm”
Please email me if you are able to assist with the transportation of food at firstname.lastname@example.org
Thank you in advance!
